The area of Lake Nona (also commonly referred to as the Lake Nona Region) is regarded as one of the most desirable places to settle down in the Greater Orlando Area. This is because of a variety of factors, including its excellent location, new developments, amenities, home price, job opportunities and education, and more.
Lake Nona is perhaps most well-known for its Medical City, which is a steadily-growing hub and the main employer for the area. But this 17-square-mile master-planned community also holds much appeal for growing families for its welcoming community and neighborhoods. As such, a diverse selection of homebuyers are seeking out Lake Nona as a place to live—and there’s a perfect neighborhood for everyone.
Below are just a few of the most popular communities within Lake Nona.
Laurel Pointe
One of Lake Nona’s gated neighborhoods, Laurel Pointe is made up of single-family homes (124 in total) constructed in a diverse range of styles and floor plans. Homes are located either around the area’s water features or have views of the preserve.
Located off of Luminary Boulevard, homes are designed in two main collections, with modern farmhouse influences. These properties also range between 3 and 7 bedrooms, up to 6,200 square feet.
Laurel Pointe also includes the townhome neighborhood of Alora.
Gatherings of Lake Nona
This is Lake Nona’s premier 55+ community. Made up of condos that range between 1,300 square feet and 1,800 square feet (and between 2 and 3 bedrooms, this is a luxurious option for active adults. Its appeal is in its location, close to all of Lake Nona and Orlando’s amenities, but also in its resort lifestyle—with a dog park, private garages, additional security, and more.
Lake Nona Golf and Country Club
Lake Nona’s most desirable golf community, the Lake Nona Golf and Country Club offers exclusive, luxury homes with incredible course views. This neighborhood is very private and its single-family homes are unique in design. On occasion, a vacant lot may become available on the market.
Homes in this neighborhood start at $1 million.
Isles of Lake Nona
This is another single-family and townhome neighborhood in Lake Nona. These homes and townhomes are built in a Craftsman style and are popular with first-time homeowners and families because of their lower price point. Isles of Lake Nona is located in the center of the region, right off of Narcoossee Road, and is recognized for its amenities.
Residents of the Isles of Lake Nona can take advantage of the amenity center, which includes a large pool, pickleball and tennis courts, a playground, and a fitness center. Homes in this neighborhood can also be waterfront, but these are more limited than some of the other Lake Nona communities.
VillageWalk
The neighborhood of VillageWalk is located in Lake Nona’s north end, up near Lake Nona itself and the USTA National Campus. Made up of single-family homes and townhomes, VillageWalk is most desirable for its design—that is, it’s based on a waterway and almost all of the properties back onto the water. It is also known for its amenities, which include a clubhouse and pool, basketball court, spa, and even an elementary school..
The Enclave at VillageWalk is the neighborhood’s gated waterfront community consisting of a select few luxury, Mediterranean-style homes.
Summerdale Park
Located off of Boggy Creek Road in south Lake Nona, Summerdale Park is a newer development with a large lake. It is composed of bungalow and two-story homes in modern-meets-traditional designs. With some great amenities—including a kayak launch—Summerdale Park’s properties start at about $600,000 and go up to about $950,000.
Laureate Park
Lake Nona’s newest development, Laureate Park has been under construction for the last few years, slowly extending its reach outwards, becoming one of the biggest neighborhoods in Lake Nona. It is home to several parks (including those for dogs!) and ponds, as well as amenities such as the Laureate Park Soccer Complex and Nona Adventure Park.
Laureate Park is made up of single-family homes and townhomes in a wide range of styles, including Craftsman, Florida Coastal, Modern Farmhouse, and Modern—with the option to build a custom home, as well. It is also home to The Preserve, which is a neighborhood made up of modern-style luxury single-family homes.
Somerset Lakes
Lake Nona’s upcoming development, which is set to comprise exclusively townhome properties in the Lake Nona Central area. Built by Pulte Homes, who have single-family and townhome developments across the Greater Orlando Area and Central Florida, Somerset Lakes properties will have 1-2 car garages and 3 bedrooms—marketed towards families for their affordability.
