Beautiful of a lake in Davenport, Florida

Located midway between Tampa and Orlando, Davenport is a small Central Florida city with big potential. The area has seen significant growth over the past few years, and it’s easy to see why. Davenport offers a bit of everything—relaxed small town vibes, natural surroundings, and easy access to the urban amenities and amusement parks of its larger neighbors. Here are a few more reasons why more and more people are seeking out real estate in Davenport.

Exciting New Developments

The center of Davenport has a great selection of attractive established homes, but if you’re looking for something new that you can truly make your own, there are a number of new residential developments to the west of the city. Here you can find plenty of new construction homes, many of which can be customized to your tastes. Some developments also have convenient community amenities such as children’s play areas and gated entries.

Open Land

One of the nice things about Davenport is that it hasn’t been overly developed, so there is still plenty of land available for sale and for recreational use. Just outside the downtown area there are plenty of lots available where you can build your dream home from the ground up or set up a business. In addition, the city is surrounded by rolling hills and wooded areas that are perfect for long walks and cycling excursions.

Major Attractions Close By

Families love the fact that Davenport is an easy drive to both Tampa and Orlando and their world-famous theme parks. Hop in the car and within an hour you can be enjoying the rides and attractions of Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens, Sea World, Universal Studios or Legoland. There are also fascinating museums, art galleries and cultural sites just a short car ride away.

Great Golfing

No matter where you are in Florida, you’re never far from a golf course, and Davenport is no exception. There are several golf courses just on the outskirts of the city including Ridgewood Lakes Golf & Country Club, Providence Golf Club and Southern Dunes Golf Course. The ChampionsGate Golf Club has not one, but two Greg Norman designed courses, as well as 18 holes of miniature golf.

Diverse Dining Options

Davenport may not be big, but that doesn’t mean you have to go far to find good food. There are a number of enticing restaurants in the city and the surrounding communities where you can find all types of cuisine. Some popular spots include Ovation Bistro & Bar for steak and ribs, Davenport Diner for hearty breakfasts, and Giovanni’s Pizza and Subs for Italian fare.

Natural Surroundings

If you love getting out in nature, Davenport is close to a number of parks and wildlife management areas. To the southwest of the city there are several lakes where you can explore hiking trails, go kayaking and spot native birds. The Northeast Regional Park has a soccer field, tennis court, jogging trails and a dedicated area for dogs to play. It also has a lake with a boat ramp and fishing access.
